Well the internet Threat Con Level has been Green for weeks, maybe even months.
So your teacher is an idiot.
That worm you talk about is a nasty one, WHICH IF YOU INSTALLED WINDOWS UPDATES YOU WOUDN'T GET INFECTED WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE. And of course everyone runs up to date spyware/antivirus software too right...
People will believe almost anything you tell them about computers, poor idiots.

those capable of "bringing down the internet" are probably the least likely to want to do so. why would some expert hacker want to ruin the very thing that he gets off on? business, government, hackers; they all love and need the net. even terrorist organisations are dependent upon ye olden www communication technology.
short of destroying actual infrastructure there's really no way to permanently bring it down anyway. every computer problem can be fixed, even if its by taking to it with a hammer and building a new one ;) |
