True, but K5 buyers got the discontinued products like Pro-53, B-4, etc. |

Good point.
We also didn't pay the full 1199 or w/e the original price was so... I should quit whining. |

This thread is about Komplete 6? ... not Komplete 5?
Jesus, cut me some freaking slack...
It's not like I'm posting a thread asking "HOW DO I SOUND LIKE PRODUCER _________"
 |

Doesn't even have Battery 4 or Reaktor 6...was expecting more new stuff. Now we'll have to pay for the upgrades when they do come out, thats probably why its cheaper. Still looks good though, might grab it. NI educational pricing ftw. |

I was wondering about that myself. I've always understood the idea behind Komplete to be the comprehensive package of all current NI synths. Of course, it seems that the Komplete paradigm has changed and obviously doesn't include some of the newer hardware-based products like Kore and Maschine. But, when NI releases new versions of individual synths within Komplete, do owners of the current Komplete package get the new version for free? Reduced price? Anybody know how that has worked with past version of Komplete? |

They tend not to AFAIK, NI did in the past attempt to have a yearly maintenance scheme with "Komplete Care" that turned out to be crap and they dropped it after the second year. (If I remember right)
I don't think Komplete has ever been complete apart from he first version? |

Ahhh, yes, now that you mention it, I do vaguely recall seeing Komplete Care/Kare/whatever.
I'm kinda wishing I had picked up K5 now just to get some of the discontinued VSTs that I don't have (esp. Reaktor, Pro-53, Akoustic/Elektrik pianos). I'll probably pick up K6, especially since NI is offering a special discount to Kontakt 3 owners ($329 IIRC) through December 31. That seems to be a pretty good deal for the Kontakt 4 and Absynth 5 upgrades, plus Reaktor and Guitar Rig Pro, which I don't have. |

Hmm... I Control + F for anything with "Kom" in it... guess THAT didn't work :-|
Sorry for the dupe post Cryo ;) |

Eh
Happy with K5 for now. Don't feel a need to upgrade...especially so soon--feel like I've barely scratched the surface of all the stuff in K5 to care about wanting new stuff! |
