People are drones, just fulfilling whatever expectation is socially ingrained in them. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't think people actually truly think about it.

That's the thing about being with someone for so long...it becomes more and more difficult to see any good reason to get married. People used to get married out of necessity, religious reasons, etc. But those aren't the times we live in now.

I know that I don't really have a rational reason. Obviously we have had many years to think about it (lulz), and at the end of the day it just comes down to pure romanticism - and I'm perfectly okay with that. It was legit something we really had to think long (lulz again) and hard about. Divorce is expensive. :p

It's all about the tax breaks & mortgage rates

Well that's just it- the conditions of divorces are overwhelmingly more dicey than they were when people originally married. It is impossible for people in good faith to reasonably divvy up any conceivable split between them.

If you own a vintage car collection and she collect pieces of original art, yeah. You ing better get a prenup- those things can't be liquidated and divided in any expedient manner, and such items can be considered 'priceless' in a sense- sketch that out.

Requiring every couple to itemize their every asset would be ing silly, and requires an frankly oppressive sort of arbitration to sort. Say you both own a really nice bed - maybe an heirloom canopy bed from Brazil or something - and hell yeah, that's been in your family for 3 generations, you want to keep that sucker. But then your spouse cheats on you in the same bed, and you don't want it anymore because that . Why even bother with the prenup?

Obviously things get extra sticky when there are children involved, and yeah, it's not limited to mere financial support. But maybe you are leaving your spouse because they have a severe drinking problem they refuse to address. The clarity of what agreement you made from before you were even married just isn't going to have any practical bearing on current conditions, all the more so when it comes to the less tangible things, like visitation rights.

Yeah but are all prenups about itemizing every asset? Pretty sure you can make a prenup about any conditions you want, no?
Halcyon+On+On
No, I believe that is correct. It's just that mandating every couple get them - as Del suggested - uhhh... where would you draw the line as a standard legal function? Now list the things you might own some day, and pick a favourite child that hasn't been born yet...

It's one of those things that's literally a good idea on paper, but the effect and extent in practice would be worthless at best, and actually could pose to be quite cumbersome on an already contrived judicial process.

The last divorce I was beholden to was really harsh and protracted, but in the end the courts really do go for 50/50 unless someone can demonstrate instances of egregious abuse or infidelity.

Yeah, true. Will in theory I still agree!

But....... does she have a nice personality? I need a trance girl who I can share music with, someone who has an understanding about life and not your typical chick today who knows nothing but radio music, MTV, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I need a girl who's deep. Please tell me who this "Jennifer Pie" is. I'm soo excited! :tongue3

No, she has the nastiest ing personality on either side of the Mississippi. A total bitch and no one likes her. People supposedly even write whole soliloquies about her cuntiness and submit them to people on this forum. If you want to know more about her I suggest you contact DJ RANN, as he is the collector of all things regarding the bashing of Jennifer Pie.
