Has anybody stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in NYC?

I'll plan on staying at the Ritz-Carlton hotel next to Central Park in NYC during the Electric Zoo weekend. There is 7 people with us and we already have one suite and one room reserved. There is no way we can afford another room. The hotels specified that they only allow two people per room as most hotels do. Since it is labor day weekend and this will be my first time in New York, I was wondering if the hotel is going to hassle us for having multiple people in each rooms. If anybody has any experience at this hotel or works there, please help me out.

LOL...well you picked the Ritz, one of the most high end hotels in the city. I would suggest keeping it down, don't smoke in the rooms in if you do smoke and don't let the front desk know more then 2 people are staying in the room.

The other option, I'm sure you can find 2 rooms in the city or Queens for the price you are paying for one suite at the Ritz.

Nice place though, you're gonna be living it up :)

No baller here. I am an extremely broke college student. We have a hook up for the rooms but for two rooms only.

Well I definitely wouldn't admit to them that that many people are staying in the two rooms, play it off like they are just hanging out until they can check into their hotels. I doubt they would go up to your room after the fact and inspect how many people you have, unless you were smoking or making a ton of noise. If they were to come upstairs, hide them in the closet lol.

I feel like I'm smuggling illegal immigrants haha. The plan is to get four people in and sneak in the other three later.

I was told they will make guest leave their ID's at the desk and there would be people everywhere to check if they are staying at the hotels. You would have to check into the front lobby and such. It sounds ridiculous as you would think that they have other things to worry about. I just need someone to confirm this.

I've never seen this at any hotel.

Dress the other 3 as high-end escorts and you'll be fine.

We live in NY but did a couples retreat at the Ritz and we were just at the Ritz Carlton St Thomas. Do you have a friends and family hook up too? We got a sick rate because of it and they bent a lot of rules for us. If this is how you got your rate, there is a note on your account, expect them to be very accommodating. Assuming you're sleeping at odd hours, it really doesn't matter. I know some hotels may make visitors show id but so what? They just want to know who is in the room and that they are not someone odd.

Its not a friends/family hook up. I think my roommate has some kind of special membership that his dad gave him. From what I've been told, they take guest's IDs before they go into the rooms. What I'd like to know is if they care if are so called guest stay over night and will starting charging us if they do.

That is the Ritz Carlton Club, he probably has a week somewhere or they offered him one. You'll still get good treatment and might get a basket. They won't care because you won't tell them how long they'll be there. Bring their bags in when you check in, not when they come. If they ask how long, just sayyou're hanging out.
