this is obviously my point. Mel doesn't even know but she pretends to just because her father is of spanish decent.. I bet there is some recent african on her mother's side she either doesnt know or she's just neglecting. |

^ well people from the Caribbean especially those who look spanish don't admit to being black because it's so "awful." i have a puerto rican friend who has whiter skin than most white people and his grandma is black although she would prefer not to be.
also, there are tons of mixed people here, my first roommate was white and indian, i couldn't tell what the she was until she told me / i meet her family |

My mothers side is definitely brown if they go out in the sun. They can tan good. Just like italians also tan good.
I for one, and my immediate family on my dads side (mom's is in P.R. and i haven't been since I was 10) are all pastey.
Everyone jumps to the conclusion that I can not be hispanic because I am so white. Then when I go to the deli by my job and talk to them in spanish - they freak the fuk out.
I'm not denying my roots. I would never do that. I just know I am Spanish/Cuban and P.R... a mix of all those ppl banging made me :D

Actually - I will mention that my TWIN brother is brown-kinda. :) He got my moms side of the skin. He can tan really well. |
