Hi people, im relatively new to this djing lark and this is the first mix ive recorded with my new setup (traktor & hercules rmx) and under the guise of 'deCrystal'. Ill be grateful to anyone who gives it a listen and ANY feedback is very welcome...
(it would be nice for some feedback without posting a tracklist, simply because i find (from personal experience) its slightly harder to be objective with one. i will, of course, provide one if anyone is interested or would rather see before downloading) |

hehe..seems like it's hard to get comments if you're not trancy enough ;)
but since i don't mind that, i listened to your mix..
so few comments..track selection is ok (area that's most sensitive to one's preferences, right - so i won't interfere too much - it could do better without some tracks, for sure, but that's just my taste)..i liked the opener (bold choice - oldie, but quality), and really liked the closing track (Foals)..it was really nicely blended with dosem track...personally i prefer blending tunes, mixing in key, whatever you want to call it, as long as the result is an entirely new track with those 2 (or 3, irrelevant) combined together..not only a simple transition...
of course, the flow is important here as well, but i'd sometimes rather sacrifice the flow in the name of what was said above..again, personal taste..
mixing in general is ok..for a first attempt sounds nice...seems you have talent..keep up the good work! one thing only..watch out for the gain of tracks, or their volume...first track is of lower volume when compared to the rest, and lacks some serious kick, or bass in general...so try to level them all..
hope you found this useful! |
