why is everyone hating on ferry? he played a great set! it's not like his tracks sound bad. i actually preferred hearing an all flashover set from him this time around.
here are some of the vids i took:
more on my phone that i will post sometime soon if the audio on them is good.

ugh, you have to sign up and get a password, which didn't work... never mind...
Most of them want you to pay to get your pics. I was hearing complaints about it from the people I was taking pics of and I reassured them I am not going to do that.

His tracks may sound good but they get old and tired if you go out to see him often and hear them a lot just like any other artist. If he mixed a few other peoples tracks in there or played tracks of his that he rarely ever plays he could have redeemed himself but I gotta say it was blah and you are hearing this from someone who used to call Ferry their #1 just two short years ago. If some of his biggest fans who love him dearly are saying it...you gotta know there is something wrong there.

they arent classics, ravi. 9-10 of the 14 tracks listed came out in the US in January 2009 or later (in the netherlands in November 2008). Which means, that, he has only been here once since the album and/or tracks release for 90% of the set he played ;) Its not repetitive to the unexperienced listener!! ;) :) please remember that just because WE whore out music and listen to it constantly, he was playing for a massive, inexperienced crowd, that probably doesnt typically listen to every Corsten's Countdown, ASOT, TATW, etc.....and it showed my the very few people who knew any of the words to armin, markus OR Ferry's most popular songs ;)
Again, read people's reviews, everyone knows its strategy and everyone also knows that if you wanted to hear the real, hardcore Ferry, that you would have been at pacha. Ferry totally knew what he was doing and played the right thing for the right type of crowd ;)

i dont really want to argue about this anymore, but i will just say that not everyone knew ferry was going to play a better set at pacha
but with that being said, your last line is he was doing the right thing for the right type of crowd...that was the main stage, now not just ferry but markus,deadmau5 and guetta played majoirty of their own stuff and they were on the main stage
so i guess its safe to say that when your a headliner on the main stage you should just whore your own out?
if thats the case i would rather ferry spin in another tent next year or something

Well ok, i meant everyone who knows about music should automatically assume that if you are headlining a massive event (particularly a cities first major event on such a scale, they know there will be newbs galore), it would be strategic to play your own /style to the thousands of people who dont OD listen to sets all day long. They KNOW that people havent listened to everyone of their radio shows and been to all of their smaller-scaled events. It has nothing to do with the LOCATION of the stage!! LOLOLOL!!!
Look at armin: he played the exact same set that he has been whoring out for the last YEAR+++, and I expected that. I wasnt dissapointed because I knew he would play it. And did we not expect him to play Communication, In and Out of Connection, etc, etc? I certainly did!!
*BUT* did you not see the entire crowd go buck-wild to armin, ferry and guetta? yes, you did, because those are the songs and style that the inexperienced are coming to hear.
when I was inexperienced I wanted to hear 100% ISOS from tiesto, not some other : thats not what I initially paid for when I was a newb!! I would have been PISSED if I showed up and tiesto didnt whore out his tracks! LOL The DJ's know that the bigger the crowd, the more likely you are going to get a high ratio of inexperienced listeners.
We on TA are a small group in comparison to the thousands of people there. every DJ there played their own (even Angello: the sets I have listened to repeatedly, has more than half of the same songs on it, but its what HE plays and he is going to showcase his normal style to gain fans....) They all did what they were supposed to based on the audience, and if anyone missed Ferry at Pacha, then they really missed a show of bangers
on a side note, please remember that Ferry came out with his new album, um, what.....only 8-9months ago.....and 9-10 of the 14 tracks are on that album. so you have heard these tracks LIVE....how many times?? That depends how many times you have seen him in the last 8-9 months, but I can guarantee is hasnt been more than once or twice ;) get over it! The man knew what he was doing and played a regular ferry monsterous set @ pacha ;) (minus the ferry whoring!)

Ah, what a day it was! I went on Sunday, avoiding 5hitmouth and Jesus van Boring. I saw bunch of ya TA's but decided to remain an anonymous lurker. Saw YankeeBaby, Angela, Big Mike - but again. decided to be rude and stay incognito. :)
VIP section rocked. Towards the end of the night, barman was pouring us generous doubles for cost of singles - in return for us tipping him well. (this nearly bit me on the ass later)
I thought VIP price was WELL WORTH IT for the overall experience. Would have been nice if I didn't wait until last minute to buy tix but hey, that's indecisiveness for you. What really made my day, if not year (besides the awesomeness of this event) is I got to meet and chat with Lindstrom . I was an incoherent wreck, completely star-struck and mumbled something like "I love your music, thank you for making it..." LOL. I could have said and asked so much stuff but completely ing freaked out. :nervous:
Anywho... that psychodelic house duo that played before Prins Thomas were kinda cool - I got into it towards the end. Prins thomas really blew me away for the first half of the set but as the clock was moving towards 4, I expected Lindstrom to take the stage... but he was taking too long. So, I went to see Menno - wow. I was torn, on one hand I wanted to see Lindstrom and on another Menno was ing killing it! I finally split to see Lindstrom, as he was perhaps the main reason why I came out. When "I feel space" came on - I was out to space... Literally. I just sat there and was in complete awe. That track just ing does me in. I don't even play it unless I really have a special occasion - it's that special.
Ingrosso came on and by that time I already had plenty of flight power in me to not give a f*ck what he was spinning, even if it was an annoying Nintendo music. Wondered around, met some more TAs, saw someone getting a bj in toilets on a hill - someone forgot to close the door and I walked into it. Closed it so fast didn't even register what happened until like few minutes later. Should have watched a little longer.
Then Markus came on and just blew me away. Loved his set from start to finish and Ferry kept things going proper. Really wanted to catch Nathan Fake but was too plastered to move by that time, so I just lounged in VIP.
Then Dave Guetta came on and I was ready to vomit... Should have let Ferry go after Ingrosso, splitting the timeslot and letting Markus close out the venue. Guetta was just .
I thought I might hear Hawtin drop some nasty acid but he just played Radio Slave kind of - boom boom boom tssss shhhhh boom chik chik boom boom boom shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... :wtf:
Not my AT ALL. My friend was not leaving - he loved it.. I kept begging him to leave, finally he gave it and at 10:30 we were out... by that time I was virtually sober and ready to go. Everything was good until we crossed the bridge and I was pulled over randomly for DUI checkpoint. I don't know how the f*k I convinced the cop that I was sober but he let me go... :nervous: I drove the rest of the way below speed limit, very carefully... If my a-hole buddy didn't miss the TP exit and get lost somewhere in north Jersey, we would have gotten home sooner but I wasted like 1.5 hours wondering around north jersey somewhere in deep pits of it before we made it to TP.
Overall, terrific event, night, nothing but praise for Made... the only change I'd make is not book Guetta... and get Menno a prime-time main stage slot, he deserved it.
Frutersi
Menno de jong was good but i was extremely unimpressed by his mixing skills....Josh Gabriel was ing nutttsss. Guy Gerber was alright too but didnt want to miss any more of Gabriel's set than needed. Didnt really like Audion's style. Angello was rockin (expect that one part where he played some live edit of sweet dreams.... and it sounded horrible) and Markus was soooooooooooooooooo good. love those basslines! Ferry was so predictable... but Calderone was goin crazy!!!!!! Hawtin was pretty good to, altho not really my cup of tea. ATB was pretty good also, but... every 20 minutes he would play that segment from 9pm and it would NOT flow with the rest of the song but the crowd would go wild...... wtf?

I love James Holden's musical taste as a dj. I wasn't impressed with his mixing, but he had a nice vibe going on by the river...sort of techy, sort of trancey (not in the epic sense). Again, not much of a crowd in the tent while he played. I think that had a lot to do with Desyn though.
its all about the melodic, dark, neotrance, spacey, psychedelic, indie, proggy, techy, ambient, trippy IDM that holden plays. not necessary his dj skills. his music isnt for everyone. ugh its also really hard to pair BC artist, in LA the opener was good but wasnt a proper opening for holden.
Lostvission
ehhh am i the only one that noticed menno played some fresh remix of the classic from 1999 by Atlantis called Figi ? This was one of the most popular songs in the world in that year.:disbelief

oh, don't get me wrong. I have a borderline obsession with the guy. :toothless
Being a dj myself though, its just sort of hard to ignore his 'eh' mixes. I still love hearing him play though. He has one of the most unqie, and cool styles out there.
