Ya that was quite interesting. There was no kick drum for literally at least the first ten minutes I'd say. But no one seemed to care and once the beat dropped it was all good :)

so THAT's why i thought the beginning was so boring! i cared! LOL. once he got going, it was really good, but for the first 10 or 20 min, i was like "wtf is he doing? this is not making me want to dance". afterwards, no problemo. i did find it to be a bit monotonous at times, but i like my music a bit less relentless. thought the opening sets were great as well. i only wish it had been less hot and crowded, because by the time it cleared out and cooled off a bit, i was sort of too tired to really dance anymore. i had lost my mojo.

I agree, I've never heard such hard banging tunes played in footwork, THIS SHOULD BE A REGULAR OCCURRENCE!!! Got there and Greg Gow was rocking it. Need to see this talented local more often. Jamie Kidd was good, but not as hard as Gow, which I wasn't a huge fan of. Speedy J was.......well very speedy and insane. This dude can seriously bang people around properly. Played some serious (and crazy/never heard it before) stuff. The vibe was excellent, the time with friends was excellent, the whole night was excellent. I'm sad you couldn't be up there jumping and techno fisting with me Jamie :( hopefully your foot gets better asap!!! I left a bit before his set finished (I was tired and had to sleep before possibly going to zone, which turned into yes), but people were still going bizonkers at the front. Funny how Speedy can play that crazy stuff and stand there smoking looking so serious, maybe giving someone a smirk if they're lucky. Haven't heard as hard/pounding of a techno set as this since D.A.V.E. the Drummer last Dec. We need more of these.

THANK YOU PLATFORM FOR ALWAYS THROWING AMAZINGLY AWESOME PARTIES!!!! :D
