Howdy.
I know there might be a few here who like this kind of stuff (JBJ and Cryo maybe?), so hopefully either of you get a chance to listen.
So yeah, this has been sitting about for ages and I finally decided to finish it off. It's quite a strange track...
Any feedback at all would be great!
Owen F - For The Day
EDIT: If anybody wants this track, or would maybe even like to have a go at remixing, then just ask. I'd really appreciate the interest. |

really quite nice
i'd look into doing a music for film course if you're not doing it already
edit: until the beat comes in, was much better without |

I really like this, particularly the atmosphere and melody in the intro. I kinda agree with Az about the drums, but I think it's just the way that they're introduced which seems a bit abrupt. Once they get going, the track seems to come back together. Maybe try filtering or fading them in, and/or maybe bring in the drum parts individually to make the transition smoother???
Overall, though, I really liked it. When do we get to hear parts 2 and 3? :) |

I like this a lot! I can put a nice progressive trance spin on it if you are interested.
I like the original piano and guitar lines and would like to use those same sounds if its not too much to ask.
I'd just need the .wav of the piano & guitar sounds dry and just the midis for the lead and pad.
PM me if interested. |

Thanks a lot, Az! I've just started a music Technology course, but I would love to start a music for film course.
Thanks once more! |

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Cryo! A lot of people have said the percussion work has killed the mood, so I'm going to remove most of them, especially the kick drum. I'm going to keep the more "Ethnic" drums, as I think they might fit well if they're made more subtle.
Parts 2 and 3 are still being worked on, so hopefully you'll enjoy the final outcome! Thanks once again :) |

Man your ambient scores are simply breathtaking. you're the best thing since sliced Chicane...
I too would love to remix this, I think it would 'trance-late' decently. The chord progression reminds me of Sindre Eide - Essentia. I love using plinky pianos and skin percussion in my music too so it'd be a lot of fun for me. i'm probably not worthy but midi me up! :D
Brilliant. |

Wow, thank you so much. Nick is my favourite artist and I suppose I take quite a bit of inspiration from his tracks, or his older ones at least like "Early". I haven't been keen on his work the past few years, though.
Again, thanks a bunch. I'd be happy to send the remix pack over. Anybody can remix it!
Sorry I haven't got the remix pack up yet, but it will definitely be up tomorrow! |
