Scams in Thailand

| has anyone been scam there? I got taken in for a suite and over price tour package...the suit was not bad, I do not mind but everyone seem to want to scam you there. |

no need to book ahead usually... otherwise u do get scammed unless staying at a chain.
ive been to thailand. Never trust anyone there for a service unless the service is to be rendered IMMEDIATELY. Never prebook anything unless you dont have to pay until service is rendered.
I got taken at full moon party. We got over to the island no problem but the scammers never came back to pick us up at the designated time. |

I saw some of that there. It happens in broad daylight within ear shot of anyone.
This particular moment there were 2 little girls that these guys were being sold by an older white chick in a normal restaurant. I wanted to get up and beat the crap out of them. |

| when i was in thailand last.. i was walking around the flea market and saw some thai silk boxers.. i asked her how much.. she looked at me saw that i was asian and said "5 baht" i walked on and then this Caucasian man came after.. i heard him ask the price she said "45 baht" he bargained to 40 and bought 3 pairs.. LOL |

But it's still just over a buck a piece.
I had this in Bali where it is encourage that you bargain with the merchants. They would often sell for 20-25% of their or original price. At first it was fun, but I started to feel bad trying to beat these people down to paying a few bucks for something that would cost me a lot more. |
