I have to start with the fact that I was partying all weekend from friday until Monday night. I went to Circus on friday, Both Piknics and Frequency on Saturday, Terasse monday.
Out of all the parties I have to say this one was by far the best one I have been to.
I did not have high expectations when I decided to go to the party with my friends but nevertheless we picked up quite a few tickets and all headed down around 2am after some nice predrinking.
Got there in with no lineup around 2 am. I expected something like 100-200 people in some decent venue, boy was I wrong....
Venue: 7.5/10
I walked in and as soon as I passed the security I was simply WOWed. The place was packed, like 450 people, Huge screen at the front of the room with the DJs in front of it. Red lights on the walls gave the place a really underground feel, but it still had the classiness to added to it. Bars in the back and the side, massage tables, couches to relax on, the layout was great. The only thing was that there were no coatcheck, but with the amount of time Pascal and the organizers put into the party it was not a big deal at all.
Vibe: 8/10
The vibe in the place was incredible, everybody was friendly, had huge smiles on their face. Everybody really seemed really discreet with the drugs and until it was late into the night nobody seemed to look ed up at all. My friends said it was one of the best parties they have ever been to which I have to agree with, even in cities like Miami you can not get a crowd like in Montreal.
Music:
Bender vs. Steve Green: 8/10
I have to say that I am a techno fan, I have always loved the darker shades of techno and progressive techno/minimal tech. I am not into a lot of tech house but this night it was like a revelation for me. They dropped a few great tracks that I could ID as well as many other great ones I would love an ID for :p The crowd was going ape a lot, their set had an amazing groove to it. I recall the Hermanez track with the vocals being dropped, also Bender - Mosquito <--- wow :p The whole room was in the groooooove.
Greg Pidcock: N/A
Unfortunately I can not give a rating for Greg because he doesn't play the style of music that I like. The crowd was totally digging it, I would say his set was more high energy then the other guys. The vibe was still there.
I left around 7:30 with great memories.
Good times :) |

Next party in a private venue will be on NYE. Same venue you saw, two rooms 1000+ capacity! Info coming soon.
Until then, Bender plays at FLEX Circus Afterhours every last Friday of the month and Steve Green will be our guest again shorthly. |
