Yumpop and Eco, you really didn't miss much.
Andrew's set was OK, Magda was boring yet again. She wasn't nearly as bad as her Minitek set, but it was bad enough.
The place was extremely crowded (who would've thought so many ppl would show up to hear Magda play), and there was no ventilation except for some air in ONE CORNER by the bar. The bathroom situation was a disaster, it was about a 20 minute wait time to get to a stall.
The Flawless guys are awesome and are great hosts, they were v. nice to comp me and my husband for tonight and we had a good time. It got to a point, however, that I couldn't deal anymore with the heat. The owners of this place need to do something about this situation, the place is a huge improvement compared to what Supreme Trading used to be, but it's still unfinished. I really hope that that wasn't all the renovations, that space has a lot of potential. |

Wow! What an exceptionally abominable show :eyes:
The sound was so so so bad that I really couldn't judge whether the sets played were good. Magda was visibly upset dropping tracks that sounded like they should've been bombs but weren't because the venue had NO BASS. WTF! :whip: Minimal w/o bass = spending a night just listening to clicks, ticks, and trippy sound effects. Really just the skeletal remains of what should be sick tracks.
I definitely don't place all of the blame on Magda, but this is nonetheless another strike against M_nus for me. :o |

And some of the highs were really caustic sounding depending on where you were standing. |

my friends that went said Magda looked like she wanted to walk out in the middle of her set. They said the sound sucked and that every time there was a build up, there was no sound to the drop. bummer |

Being amused by and actually making the comment are two different things. If I remember, i think it was right when you pulled me over by the A/C duct.
BTW, they also pulled a fan from the right hand side of the stage, which also increased the heat. I thought I saw it setting off of the hallway to the left when I left. Was their audio equipment that they were trying to cool off? That was the only rationale I could think of for removing one of the few fans they had. |

I came down with a nasty cold on Friday so I didn't go and I was pissed. But by the looks of the review, I probably wouldv'e gotten pneumonia if I had gone lol.
Oh well, looking foward to the Resolute party. I'm sure it won't disappoint. |

So, at Sunday Best EZ afterparty - I am outside talking to my bf and Wotyzoid about Magda playing at Demf last year and she totally bored me (we missed Zabs ending for that boring whore)
anyways this little prissy ****** behind us goes "don't talk like that about her - she's my friend and she's gonna be here next week" - in his lil whiny voice. I was just like o-well she fuking bored the out of us @ demf and we regret leaving zabs for that. My bf also kinda told him off cuz he cringes when you say the name Magda. :haha: |
