Here's my set that was aired on Tuesday for Mike Saint-Jules' show "Universal Soundz" episode 200!
Starts off with some melo kinda proggy disco sound, then moves up into peaktime prog for the rest of the set.

Some great tracks here, you had a fair bit of variation between everything without losing any sense of cohesion/theme. The last track was my favourite, it had some very cool sounds. The mixing was spot on, very smooth and pleasing. However, I had a couple of issues with flow. The second half was good, but the first not so much.
The Empire of the Sun track seemed really strangely placed to me. It really killed the mood. I think it would serve as a nice closing track to wind down a night, but in this position it was a bit too mellow.
The song straight after that was really cool though (is it based on Peach's theme from Mario? It sounds vaguely nintendo-ish) and had a great unique feel. However, to me this one also felt weirdly placed. It also has a very 'final' feel to it and I think it would be better towards the end of a set.
Otherwise, great work. I liked all the tracks in one way or another. |

Thanks man. I agree about the flow in some places. I really wanted to do a slower disco set but as this was a guestmix for a show that usually has trance/progtrance, I had to keep the energy up while still running the line of putting in some more disco-y tunes I wanted in there.
Peach (definitely named for the nintendo style) and the Mega Bit Me remix are my favs as well :) |
