Announcing the second release from Los Angeles' Culprit label, 'Animals Tonight' an EP from LA's techno artisan Kenneth James Gibson (aka [a]pendics.shuffle, Reverse Commuter)
Gibson's groove-heavy tech-house on 'Animals Tonight' perfectly embodies the West Coast sound Culprit espouses, delivering gritty bass lines focused on late night antics. 'Animals Tonight' combines a darker nocturnal vibe with upbeat percussion and playful vocals by Kelly Johnston on the A side. 'The Forgotten Note' pulses with a funkified synth melody and a steady groove on the B side. Fellow Culprit artists Inxec and Matt Tolfrey create another bass-heavy dancefloor bomb with their rollicking remix.

The cover art is really dope, loving that. Forgotten Note does it for me on this release, although I have yet to hear the Inxec & Tolfrey mix of Animals Tonight.

1. This is indeed Damian Lazarus about to start DJing...the setting is the Standard Hotel rooftop, in downtown LA where we throw monthly parties. That one was on July 5th and featured Damian and Ewan Pearson
2. The song is one of our all-time favorites: Talking Heads "This Must Be the Place" and it's Ewan Pearson's last song
3. These Standard parties (called Culprit Sessions) are quite simply awesome, if i may say so myself, so make your way to LA

not much to add but this is a ridiculously quality release. not that i didn't like the first culprit release, but i think this is a step forward and i'm really looking forward to what's coming in the future
