| Why do so many DJ's and producers have several aliases? It just confuses everyone. |

I imagine it would be for a bunch of reasons:
1) Doing a song with another producer/DJ, so they need a new name
2) Doing a song with a different record company
3) Different style of song (eg. DJ Shadow and Dr Octagon, Oct is more DnB style)
4) Doing a song you think might be e, so that your name doesnt get tainted
5) Ensuring that people dont get sick of your name on Every song out there |

| I don't understand why they remix their own production. Why wouldn't they just call it a remake or something? |

Sounds very reasonable. |

| I think the aliases are cool. Because you don't get turned off from what could be a great tune by an artist whom you may not like at the time. |

Now the question is, are there any DJs that you know of, where you like the Alias better than the DJs primary name?
One that I like, is Ferry Corsten's Alias, Discodroids... sounds kinda cheesy, but I like it. |

most the time this is because the original name is more than just one artist...
example - ogenki clinic - first light (james holden remix)
ogenki clinic is james holden and gwill morris, so james holden wanted to do a mix on his own and called it the james holden remix :) |

| Push for example. He almost always has the same style (and it works like a charm) but he changes his style ever so slightly. Push is uplifting trance, M.I.K.E is a little bit softer but same sound pretty much and Plastic Boy is in between the two :D. I don't care if he calls himself clown shoes he's still the :D. |
