Why do so many DJ's and producers have several aliases? It just confuses everyone.
Sarcoman
I imagine it would be for a bunch of reasons:

1) Doing a song with another producer/DJ, so they need a new name
2) Doing a song with a different record company
3) Different style of song (eg. DJ Shadow and Dr Octagon, Oct is more DnB style)
4) Doing a song you think might be e, so that your name doesnt get tainted
5) Ensuring that people dont get sick of your name on Every song out there
Carona
I don't understand why they remix their own production. Why wouldn't they just call it a remake or something?

Sounds very reasonable.

I think the aliases are cool. Because you don't get turned off from what could be a great tune by an artist whom you may not like at the time.

very true

Now the question is, are there any DJs that you know of, where you like the Alias better than the DJs primary name?

One that I like, is Ferry Corsten's Alias, Discodroids... sounds kinda cheesy, but I like it.

most the time this is because the original name is more than just one artist...

example - ogenki clinic - first light (james holden remix)

ogenki clinic is james holden and gwill morris, so james holden wanted to do a mix on his own and called it the james holden remix :)

Blue.
Push for example. He almost always has the same style (and it works like a charm) but he changes his style ever so slightly. Push is uplifting trance, M.I.K.E is a little bit softer but same sound pretty much and Plastic Boy is in between the two :D. I don't care if he calls himself clown shoes he's still the :D.
