I figured I would start the thread on him breaking Lou G's record, since my own screenname clearly implies my loyalty to the team.
but even more so, I can not explain to you guys what a hero Jeter is to me :) The guy just personifies class, grace, and professionalism. I could not ask for a better captain and person to represent our pinstripes!!!
I almost got a bet emo when he made the milestone tonight. I am just SO PROUD to be a yankee fan right now!! :D :D
(and the irony or him reaching such a milestone, and touching the hearts of New Yorkers, on a historic day in our city (9/11)is just irony at its finest......) |

Well cant agree more Kels, Guy is pure class, and as a Native New Yorker and growing up in the 70's with Reggie and the rest, well he is a great represenative of what the Yanks are about.
FYI: did you know my dad had a tryout with the yanks? (City college boy) Even have the letter from them to prove it...said he was to skinny to make it to the pros, ha. |

ed: thats exactly what I mean and why I am beaming with pride ATM!!! so classy and all about being a yankee. He is just everything (and more) that you would want in a player. Even my yankee-hater friends have been text-whoring me about how cool they think it is. Everyone likes Derek jeter!! :) Soo freakin cool about your pops!!! i was at the game on tuesday night and he didnt get one hit i was so madd lol
but yea no matter all the ups and downs with the yankees these past 10-15 years jeter has always been a professinal on and off the field
never talks smack or looks to be the best and brightest star on the team
guy just goes out there and looks to win
hes one of my heros in life :) |

im not hatin, cuz she IS pretty, but he has done so much better!! Look at the list of KNOWN women he has been with (let alone all the unknowns and hotties he has been spotted with!!):
