Quality Audio Cables?

Hey everyone. My current setup is 2 CDJ 400's, PCV 275 mixer, and a pretty basic Philips stereo system (2 speakers, receiver) and it's about 400w total power.

To connect everything i'm using run-of-the-mill RCA audio cables (you know the ones i mean right?). Now on my mixer the "signal" L.E.D's don't stay a constant green color. They flash. (this last point isn't really part of my question, just interesting for PCV275 users)

My question is would getting higher quality cables make a big enough difference in sound quality for me to invest in them? FYI all my music is burned onto cd's and is 320kbs.

SORRY! bit of mistake I made. I do NOT have cdj 400's. I have 200's.

Honestly i have not seen a HUGE difference. When your looking at bigger systems and whatever and way more volume maybe it would be a nice choice.

I'm running CDJ-1000mk3s and a DJM-800, also Ableton Live into the mixer. The stereo is an old Aiwa**(spelling?) haha. I have used RCA Cables from Monster and ones from Wal-mart and have not heard a difference. I notice a VERY slight difference when using digital co-axial cables though. Or maybe its just my mind wanting to hear a better sound.

Either way...its not really worthy to blow alot of cash on it if yours are working fine for now.

the cheapest part of your chain will dictate your sound quality in this case the cheap speakers

Oh come on, if these won't improve your audio quality, nothing will!

if your mixer has XLR outputs and u need to have long cables then go with those, it actualy can help imo over longer distances. but on two meters its really no point.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Guess i'll hold off on the cable purchase. And i agree with Zild, i'll pick up some quality monitors at some point.

There's nothing wrong in investing quality audio cables. Some characteristics of good shielding cables can reject RF and EMI interference for a dead quiet background. Another benefit of high quality cables is that it releases more current than your average consumer cable. Don't get monster cable, they suck when it comes to interconnects. A good brand is LAT-International. They have the best balance and sonic proportionality of all cables. Here some reviews for this high end cable.

Cables play little difference unless you make your living by selling Monster products.

I use digital coaxial cables on my djm800 to 1000mk3's and notice a slightly cleaner sound :)
