just looking at numbers, though, it looks like Cutler is who we thought he would be, and Forte is finally waking up. the WR corps seems to be shaping up really nicely. I'd actually take this over bernard berrian and a bunch of bums, like we had a few years back.

slaton's got two lucky plays and he's looking a little better, but this moats guy might really take his job. too many benson-esque 1-yard stumbles into the guards (and you know how painful those were to watch).

jamarcus russell is the worst qb I have ever seen. henry burris, cade mcnown, craig krenzel--step aside. 'jamunches ruffles' can't hit the broad side of a barn, or see where it is from two feet away.

i don't think slaton is going anywhere, even though moats has looked real good the past couple of weeks. it's just those extra 15 pounds slaton put on during the offseason that really affected his style of game. last year, he was a slasher, and used mostly speed to outdo his defender. this year, he's using a bit of slash, but mostly muscle on his runs. something he needs to get used to.

as for russell, damn he sucks. the only reason why oakland is sticking with him, because they're stuck with him. all that guaranteed money they promised him. he missed so many passes to murphy and heyward-bey, it was embarrassing.

go saints! i am happy to see that when they're lacking on their dominant side(passing), they can pick it up on the opposite side of the field. thankfully, gregg williams (def coordinator) has brought 1 aspect to this defense the saints could never do the past couple of years: create turnovers. when a team wins the turnover battle, 85% of the time they will win.

that pittsburgh challenge on SD is a weird one. I hope it's a TD since no whistle was ever blown.

edit - ruling on the field stands !

Disappoint. They put on good games though....

I'm so nervous. The Vikings' season starts and ends tonight. Until Nov. 1 :p

Three quick observations:

1) Favre might be 40 on Saturday, but he can still play
2) Saints are looking scary good - adding Sharper was huge
3) What the hell is going on with the Titans?

1. Favre is 40 yes, and I believe I have a good theory to why Favre came back (a second time). He's still a top 10 QB in the NFL this year. you compare his current skills to the other 31 starting qbs out there, and i say there are maybe 7-8 QBs better than him. He figures as long as he's top 10 QB, he'll continue to play.

2. Thankfully Sharper is turning out to be a useful acquisition. The last time the Saints picked up a big acquisition DBs were McKenzie and Randall Gay, and they both turned into duds. Also, on the other spectrum (offensive), everyone is healthy. Shockey is doing it on his end. Thomas has been the best so far at the running back position. Brees just needs to use his tools properly, which he has been doing, and Saints are heavy contenders.

3. Titans suck, because they're not getting their lucky breaks they got last year. Last year, they survived solely on turnovers, which is something they're not doing this year. Also, they really are missing Haynesworth. They won't admit it, but their pass defense is struggling without some kind of pass rush. Opponents have all day to pass the ball.

it was an odd situation. He got scratched from the lineup about 30 minutes before kickoff. :conf:

anyways, how bout dem broncos? please forgive me for all the bad things i have said about them. i admit i am a sinner. praise the lord! i am a believer! (of the broncos of course). next sunday is a big day. if they beat san diego @ san diego, you might as well book them as the afc west champs. :stongue:

then we will look forward to november 26th. giants-broncos. we're going back in time to super bowl 21. 1987. simms vs. elway. morris v. winder. giants major D vs. broncos no namers.

well this year it's the big giants D vs. the broncos no namers. we'll see how it goes.

Renzo
He violated the team's itinerary, so he got benched.
MeLLyMeL
Is that all the details? What team itinerary?

Kinda wack. I probably could have had close to 130 pts in Fantasy with Sims-Walker. I still have Ronnie Brown to go :)
