I've known a few two faced guys, but only a few. And without question I've seen it as a "bitchy" trait.
Nothing more ty than to hear someone you reckon is alright whining and bitching about someone who to their face they are best mates. Always makes you think "what do the say about me when I'm not around".

everyone is a little two faced at times, if you know how to act civil to even your enemies. it's called being mature.
now if you're talking about being a complete fake and pretending to like someone when you really hate them, that's a different story. but even then...sometimes someone is gonna piss you off and you're gonna vent about it and then get over it. does that make you two faced because you said something about someone when they annoyed you, but you didn't write them off for it?

If I understood him the way I think he meant, he didn't mean the concepts are modern. Just that the way society has been pacified with regards to confronting people when they take issue with an action.
