I don't know, but he'd sure play a mean pinball. |

There's a charity golf event I've played in the last 2 years that's hosted by the father of 3 daughters who are blind, deaf, and dumb. they can walk, hear somewhat (courtesy of implants & hearing aids), and the older two (I think they're about 6 or 7 now) can now talk. Their sight's pretty limited, and they still need a lot of help, but most babies don't survive that condition, to begin with. If someone was born without touch, taste, or smell, either, he wouldn't survive long. |

I think that everyone who is posting examples of other people IRL are missing the entire point of this thread. NO ONE has ever not had any senses. Helen Keller was blind and deaf, the charity cases from that golf event were blind deaf and dumb, but they still had other senses.
The point of the thread was to contemplate on the concept of perception and reality, and instead you get this.
It's like someone posting a thread asking for the rarest psy-trance you can find, and you guys start posting ASOT videos. |

Could the brain even function without any kind of sensory input? |
Not really. People go insane without sensory input and start hallucinating nonsense and nightmares. Even mere solitary confinement in the dark, which takes away only sight, most social contact, and a lot of sound, drives plenty of people bonkers.

They would not even exist like a non-human animal. Even animals require sensory stimuli for full neural development. |
