Last night was amazing! Kristina Sky opened, she went from playing Trance to House and closed out with Trance. Her House tracks had people jumping!!
Gareth stated off good, but I did feel him after a while. It was kinda repetitive and I would say lacked a punch. Neverthless still good!
Menno was clearly the best! I was almost about to leave after Gareth's set 'coz I had a raging headache but Menno's tracks kept me going. I was there till 3am until after which I coudn't take it and bounced. He played 'Find Yourself' and pumped so much bass into that track, my heart was racing....
Btw, what happened to the Hot Dog vendor?? |

Gareth and Menno. Two of my favorite DJs! Religiously listen to their podcasts. Seems like ages since Gareth was in LA. Really needed a weekend off but there was no way I was going to miss this. Could not have asked for a better night. Gareth is such a pro. Its great watching him up their and I loved, loved, loved his set. Menno took over and stepped it up a notch in intensity. That boy always delivers and is so much fun. Closing with As The Rush Comes was meh though but I will forgive him lol.
Haven't been to Vanguard since May and it was great to be back.
Lucky us, have seen Menno 3 times in two weeks. |

First time seen Kristina sky, she was awesome. Music was good, and she was very, animated. Singing to the song, using gestures, really tripped me out. I loved it!
Then Gareth came, rocked my pants off. 2hrs seemed like 10 minutes. So fast. When Menno came up, the crowd begun to thin, it was past 2am and alcohol ran out.
Menno did a good job, but I think Gareth was better. |

havnt been to vanguard since the last time gareth was out here with markus
Kristina sky played an awesome set anything from house to trance.Andy Duguid featuring Leah - Don't Belong was the best.
Gareth Emery - what can i say about gaz he is a en pro at rocking the place. tracklist was insane just banger and banger but the mixing i feel was off. he kinda mixed like he does on his podcast. but he was insane as always
menno ive seen twice in 2 weeks now. great as always

| Was outside pre-drinking til midnight when Gareth came on..right when I got there GE was setting up to go on, perfect timing. Both did an amazing job, GE played some great tracks like, Nothing But You (Super8 & Tab remix) and Elektra and many other more..thought Menno did a better job, his set had more energy that GE's. Check out the videos on my youtube...www.youtube.com/lphiesteve |

Amazing that everyone seems to have a different opinion how the DJ's performed this night, but if we all liked exactly the same music then the world would be a boring place! I thought Gareth's set was off the hook! Great track selection and flow, I thought he did best job of the night.
Menno had me on the dance floor until then end as well and his set was great, but Gareth's just moved me more. As mentioned, Kristina opened with more of a House sound, almost bordered on lounge music at times...not sure if this is her new sound or was a necessary opening set for two top notch Trance DJ's, but it went off well nonetheless...just not what I was expecting!
Someone told me that the opening DJ's have to "tame it down" or the headliners will get all pissed about it. imo, if a DJ is strong enough, it just doesn't matter though.
One time Kristina played such an amazing set before Blank & Jones came on that I didn't think they could match it...but their set had such a different sound and took the night to a whole new level, it was like the sets couldn't even be compared! I say just let the DJ's go and do their best, play what they feel is right, but that's not to say that tracks shouldn't be coordinated ahead of time so everyone doesn't play the same songs. :)
Oh yeah, almost forgot the pics!
