Dreaming Of You (Svenson & Gielen Remix)

Hmmm... I recently heard Johan and Sven's take on the Thrillseekers' summer tune "Dreaming Of You" and I have to say I was quite underwhelmed. I loved the original but it seems that this style of song (ie, dreamy vocal trance) is not suited to the Svenson & Gielen style.

I only mention it because a) I usually love Airscape/Svenson & Gielen remixes, despite the criticism they often get, and b) I rarely listen to a song and say, "this is really bad". :p

They should stick to remixing songs more in their club trance style, or, even better, they should employ a slightly different approach ala their remix of Lethal Industry. That slightly progressive, understated rework might have been more effective in the case of Dreaming Of You. Keep up the good work, Johan, but don't take on more than you can handle! Anybody else feel the same way about this track?

ive not been to keen on them ever since they started doing their synths "stabby" rather than flowing, same with minimalistix, a bit disspointing for me :(

I agree with u 100%. Yes, on their recent mixes the synths have changed into more not-so-smooth-anymore kind of style and i don't like that so much anymore.

I don't like the song that much.

Svenson & Gielen have become extremely lazy with their remixes.

Their remix of Watching the Waves was almost an exact copy of Beauty of Silence.

That's true. In principle I don't mind producers remixing tracks in the style of their previous singles (eg, Airwave's Save Me/King Of Clubs - Revelation), however Svenson & Gielen have done the Beauty Of Silence thing already with their Factor 9 - Release Me remix... 3 years ago. I admire their three singles because The Beauty Of Silence, Twisted and We Know What You Did all manage to retain their usual signature sound while having seperate identities. Shame they can't do that on the remix front...

Well I'm not too much of a criticist. I think you can remix or produce whatever style you want, just as long as it sounds good. But my only expectation is that when you actually do do a remix, you significantly change it, not just keep everything the same and add your own beats. And I also hate it when remixers make a totally new melody!

Anyway I thought this remix of Dreaming Of You was awesome though. They added their own melody, but it fits the track perfectly and the Original Mix didnt have much of a melody anyway. And even though their remix of Watching The Waves is a rip off of Beauty Of Silence, I think it sounds better ;) Keep up the good work Svenson & Gielen!

I'm quite shocked to see those kind of replies as I for once am inlove with this remix.
It's simply amazing to say atleast, so many energy... it's one of those few tunes that really gets your mind flowing as you hear it.
My only rant would have to be the silence like synthes which I would have to admit- made me think it's a lame tune at first, but hell, the vocals along with the uplifting theme just sweft me away over time :eyes:
