Reason is a great tool for production. Like all production tools it has strengths and weaknesses. Learn to use it well and it will be an asset to you

I was talking about the exclusive Reason stuff put out. They have nice refills and things that can only be found in the program and they continue to add them (slowly but surely)

this guy posted his track in producers promo forum and it was made in reason

If u have a Reason 3 license, you should buy the Record for Reason product at 150USD, it includes Reason 4 upgrade and Record! ing Cheap. Reason is a killer prog and with Rewire its awesome. Hopefully They will merge Reason and Record in the Future to make an uber-app. I just got record and it seems to be a cool prog so far. Though the license tech is lame, see my other thread :)
BTW to this day I made all my tracks in Reason.

One Night Stand - Blarsa

That was made in Reason and it sounds cool albeit extremely vulgar.

Vulgar but funny as hell!

Good track too.

In General,
Reason is a really good tool, the only thing I remember being a bit weak on it is the compressor, never really felt it could deliver what some of the other units out there can.

But the fact that you can rewire it is just awesome.

I used Reason up untill 3.0 came out with the combinator and they changed the sequencer.

The sequencer was ALREADY terrible imo, and then they actually managed to make it even less convenient to use. I just hate the piano roll and doing any sequencing with it.

As far as sound quality, don't ask why.

But all my tracks on Reason use to sound low or light on bass. When I switched to FL I noticed I didn't have that problem anymore. Plus the workflow in Reason is like a turtle compared to some other programs.

But even still, Reason is just so much fun to use. Love its synths.

Reason is a good prog to use. If it works for you use it. I use it, but it has its pro's and con's like any other.

Sound quality there is a dip in volume or something. Ive done that test with other DAW's and many others have, I've read on forums. I dont know why but reason does change the sound. It really is annoying, as you have to work at getting it back.

I would love to know why.

the new mixer in Record seems to fix up some of the audiolimitations in Reason. well worth the upgrade, the sound is more in your face now. Ypu can open up old Reason projects without any problems at all. And now u can use hardware synths and efex too.

Cool synths and effects, poor arrangement interface and piano roll, you cant adjust the size of the windows nor make your own key commands.
