It was cancelled due to the extreme high tides associated with the new moon being the previous day. The area where everyone would have danced would have either been a mud fest or ankle deep saltwater.
Also, notice how the media spun it into a "rave" instead of a beach party/cleanup. It would have probably been shut down anyway. |

Indeed,I feel that was the number one reason for it being shut down. Yes the tide issue was important BUT the beautifully misunderstood word aka rave was thrown around quit a bit.... |

| glowsticky type parties go on at that place almost every other weekend and there usually will be 1 cop car sitting at the freeway onramp and watch and dont do anything. its a 24 hour fishing spot. |

| I know that but anything being publicized on television as a "Rave" should be shut down due to the negative connotation surround the word. Granted I don't personally feel that way all the time BUT I knew a group of twenty or thirty people coming from Miami not to mention the 50 to 100 individuals coming from the Northern most part of the state(collectively of course). Such large numbers mixed with the word rave is never a good combination. |
