Ok...yesterday I was in wales and I managed pick up a Irish radio station on 104.4FM in Dublin, not sure what it's called but it had a show on it called 'telestar euphoria' I couldn't believe it when I heard it, it was playing really good trance tunes, it may not sound much but in my town the radio never plays proper trance ever, just a hole lotta cheese and Ian van dahl repeats:( after this had finished they played the whole lisa lashes euphoria album and it was ing amzing!! I dont know how to describe the music, it wasn't hard house it was trance but really fast with nu-nrg baselines, just the way I like it!:D I don't know if it was just the mood I was in or just a feeling, but it just made normal trance seem so pathetic when you're in the middle of this kinda set.
Wicked Neo

Theres bad hard house and goog hard house, there's the basic cartoon hard house which is just stupid hoovers and pitched up rave samples and then there's this stuff, which yeah is mostly hard house, but it's f-ing good! it's the same as trance but with a constant baseline and the nu-nrg baselines sound really cool. I call it 'nu-nrg trance' cuz it isn't hard in the same style as scot project, kai tracid etc... but it still sounds like trance

I’m sort of seconding what DJ_Cuba just said here.

When ever people think of Hard House, they automatically think of cheesy happy hardcore-esque, commercial drivel that gets played down the local ritzy and on TV. There are a tremendously high proportion of good hard house tracks out there, and in turn a tremendously high proportion of good hard house DJ’s too.

I myself am a fan of Hard House, among other rather contrasting styles from progressive to techno, and proud to be one. Good quality Hard House has an up for it, no holds barred, bring it on, LETS GET ON AND F***ING DANCE essence which is indescribable. Personally my favourite area of Hard House is the tunes, which cross over with techno elements. Nick Sentience, one of my fave DJ’s and producers is a prime example. I can’t get enough of that Nukleuz Purple!

I’m glad to see we have some more fans of Lisa Lashes with us. Every time I’ve seen her live she’s never failed to disappoint, and always put on a great show. Lately she has been spinning a few more trancy and techie tunes, which I think is a good thing.

Extreme Euphoria has been released in conjunction with Tidy Tracks, so if you looking for any of the singles, that’s the place to look. I’ll be getting this CD as soon as I get some spare cash. I can’t wait
:D

Looking at the tracklisting it looks like a hella good Hard House set.I am not sure about it being "nu-nrg trance" though. Im glad you are a fan now, nonetheless!
Tracks like
Heaven's Cry - Till Tears Do Us Part(Flash Harry Mix)
is what I like about this genre, but like your descripition up there, the hoovers and horns, which are characteristic of most hard house, rubs me the wrong way.
But there is nothing better than being at a live set with proper hard house, you just want to jump around all day and bang your arms in the air! I went to see Dj Irene a couple weeks back, she gave me what I needed.

I might run out an get this.

I like hardhouse as well except (like already mentioned) the overly cartoony stuff like Public Domain and such.

Almost forgot,

the king of all hardhouse/hard dance tracks:
BK and Nick Sentience-Flash
dig2k
sorry, but that is not trance, it is hard house. You could stretch it and call it hard nrg, but def. not trance!

Hehe.. if you like heavens cry you should try tracks of DJ Jose & G-Spot. Heavens Cry is basically an alias of DJ Jose. Check DJ Jose vs G-spot - Acess (Heavens Cry Mix). Also try G-spot - NRG. Its a very cheesy track but on a loud system or in a club its pumping and VERY danceable

DJ Jose & G-spott are hollands No.1 cheese producers ;)

As For Hardhouse, you people should check the stuff from Jon Doe, He has done some nice remixes in the past (lost witness - 7 colors (Jon Doe Mix) And ofcourse try some stuff from Tom Harding.

But.. heh why should we need hard house when we have Hard Style, just get some sets from Pav, DJ Luna or Lady Dana and u'll know what i mean ;)

Carona
She mixed another Euphoria album called Hard House Euphoria. Pretty sweet cd but I don't really listen to much hard house anymore, maybe i'll pop it in the cd player now :)
kurai
The Shokk tunes don't actually fit into this style
