From what I read on another forum, it will cost around $2000 Canadian Dollars, that's about $1,834 US Dollars. You gotta keep in mind that it's also a mixer, not just a midi controller and it works with Traktor too. |

So what's the difference between this and a Xone 92 vs something like a Xone 4D? I ask because I have a Xone 92 and am considering selling it to get a Xone 4D (since I use Traktor Pro). Also what's the difference between the XD and say two 1Ds? |
Get an Evo 5. |

don't know how it performs, don't really care. i don't think it's much different from anything else A&H has out on the market right now. A&H new is starting to look like damn toys, those huge ass cue/play buttons look like they're made for the blind. the whole product is ugly and overpriced. it really looks like they've partnered with fisher price on this one
honestly, i don't see how this is much different from a xone 3d aside from its better soundcard. 4 channel layout, with 2 channels of FX and no a&h filter. such a simple piece of kit for $1,800? basically, it just seems like a lazy mans xone3d/4d. someone who's not willing to create their own traktor/ableton/whatever templates
i'm sure it will bring use to people who just want simplicity. i'd rather get a xone:92 and a couple cheap midi controllers and have a much more versatile setup worthy of such a high price tag |

From RA:
| quote: | Allen & Heath and Serato Audio Research have announced details of their joint venture into the DJ controller market.
Designed primarily for use in conjunction with Serato's new four deck version of their ITCH DJ software, the Xone:DX is a plug-and-play 20-channel USB soundcard (96kHz/24-bit) that features at its hub a four channel mixer for direct DSP mixing within the computer. Up to 168 individual MIDI control messages can be sent from the DX's various knobs, buttons and jog wheels, which means compatibility with most leading DJ software brands. A full version of the new Serato ITCH software comes bundled with the package, allowing users to take immediate advantage of the app's looping, time-stretching and FX capabilities. There are a few club-friendly extras included as well, in the form of a UV light sensitive legend, bi-colour LED feedback layer assignment and a separate booth output.
The Xone:DX ships as of November 2009 at a suggested retail price of £999. |
