It's 6:AM, Sunday October 4th, 2009. The bar is open and it has been raised yet again!
Last season, Roam Music set out to establish a new paradigm for the San Francisco underground with our intimate AudioKinesis soirees. While these selectively disclosed parties hold a special place in our heart for their magical 150 capacity and 360 degree audio environment, we yearn to stretch our musical limbs over broader fields. We long for more parties that stretch into the divine daytime hours where the mind and the music converge at their most twisted. We searched long and hard to find the next thing that would excite us and we found it at 6:AM, on the covered terrace of Kelly's Mission Rock overlooking the gorgeous San Francisco Bay!
On Oct. 4th, 2009, Roam Music and Funktion-One sound will celebrate the Lovevolution weekend with underground music to rock your body, heart and soul.
For this morning escapade, we are recruiting some of our favorite DJ talents from across the house music world to provide our essential sounds. As the head of the influential Crosstown Rebels label Damian Lazarus needs no extended introduction. Lazarus is at the forefront of cutting edge dance music. His reputation for twisted after hours sets spans the world; born from his infamous Stink parties which started in London and Ibiza and now are fast becoming the "it" parties for major venues across the UK, Berlin, Madrid and Paris. A recent transplant to sunny Los Angeles, Damian Lazarus will be packing his usual magic black box of acoustical tricks and treats for this special morning set.
Our other headliner hails from Chicago, Illinois. To this day, Mazi Namvar remains one of the most consistently forward facing forces in modern American house music. Original compositions by Audio Soul Project, or one of Mazi's many other pseudonyms, have appeared on Systematic, Urbantorque, NRK, Circle Music, SAW and Dessous Recordings, with epic remixes licensed to Circo loco and compilations on Get Physical. The long anticipated return of one of our first Roam resident DJs for this performance as Audio Soul Project is a spectacle we can’t wait to unfold this Sunday.
Also joining us for this event will be our good friend Crazy Larry of Udder Madness and Cheap Sunglasses fame. This kid pushed his way through the door where other people didn’t see one and uses his taste for old and new influences to help grow underground music movements across denver and now new york.
Alland Byallo's new album “Brick by Brick” is a deeply personal account of his life in techno and we are eager to have him whip out the big guns on the majestic Funktion-One for the hometown faithful.
We've become increasingly impressed with Solar's sets through the year as we attended his amazing Sunset parties and Pacific Sound boat parties. His whimsical enthusiasm for the craft and high caliber record collection on display stay with us far after the show.
Last, but certainly not least are our dual residents John Wander and Nikola Baytala remain the driving force behind these decadent Roam Music affairs. With almost two decades of records between them, John and Nikola set the tone for some of the best parties of last year. Looking forward to another great season with our beloved duo.
Doors Open at 6:AM. Limited number of $10 presales through http://www.roam-music.com this week ($20 at the door) |

It's 5:48:AM
and we like to thank Funktion One for making a return appearance to Roam Music events starting 6:AM on Oct 4th at Kelly's Mission Rock.
Last year, at AudioKinesis: Jade, Roam Music closed in a long time pursuit of bringing the ultimate sound system to San Francisco for an underground music event. We all still feel the thunderous rhythms Mathew Jonson showered down upon us.
We are happy to work with the people at FUNKTION-ONE yet again starting at 6:AM. We both have the same understanding about sound. Funktion One systems "pay the amazing acuity of human hearing the respect it deserves by providing products that deliver as much resolution and detail as is possible."
We all are looking forward to hearing Damian Lazarus, Audio soul Project, Crazy Larry, Alland Byallo, Solar, Nikola Baytala and John Wander take charge of the Funktion One room on Sunday morning.
See you on the dance floor.

It's 5:49:AM
Alland Byallo has been producing and releasing music on his own digital Nightlight label since 2004. The next year, he co-founded Kontrol, one of the best monthly techno parties in the US.
Alland's new album “Brick by Brick” is a deeply personal account of his life journey in techno. Resident Advisor found that "years of being at the helm of [KONTROL] have clearly given Byallo a valuable insight into how to work the crowd. It's not always easy to transfer that knowledge to the finished product, but Brick by Brick has made it sound effortless."
A stirring recommendation in Ibiza-voice called Brick By Brick perhaps "this year's most anticipated release."
The reviewer found the album "a strikingly honest peek into the mind of Byallo as he depicts his past, present, and future as an artist. The primary method he uses to convey this on record is his own voice, like the sly spoken word on the album's opener "Ring In The Dead" where he summarizes the main themes of the album in just a few short minutes. The richness of verse here finds him writing a new chapter in dance music history and one he says he will continue to pursue in the future."
And thus, you understand why we are eager to have the man XL8R called "an elegant dark lord of the dance floor," whip out the big guns on the majestic 6:AM Funktion-One for the hometown faithful on Sunday Morning Oct 4. Join us for an amazing morning of music on the covered terrace of Kelly's Mission Rock overlooking the gorgeous San Francisco Bay |

It's 5:50:AM...
And $10 presales are now available for 6:AM.
We admit our sadistic enjoyment in rolling pricing models. It's always been our mission to make a party available for all who want to attend it. Rarely does one venture into a dance hall in pursuit of gold.
6:AM, a labor of love, surely needs support in order to flourish into the early morning alternative we envision for her, but not in sacrifice of all those who truly wish to attend. We just don't want to end up paying $1000 for our own tickets to the show. ;) Hence. we strive to find a starting price point that seems agreeable to all.
Let the gauntlet be dropped at $10 presales.
We encourage all other parties of love to adhere to this standard so that people can have real choice in attending all our shows and make the entire weekend a success.
Second, it has burned our buns for some time that the ticket processing companies often charge a 15-30% premium on top of our tickets. We've taken steps to remedy this as well while we were away on our techno tourism holiday.
Roam Music is proud to introduce the $1 flat ticket handling fee. So yes, $10 ticket. $1 Fee. Funktion One sound. Open Bar. Damian Lazarus, Audio Soul Project, Alland Byallo, Crazy Larry, Solar, john Wander, Nikola Baytala, a proper downtempo room.
And scarving for humanity scarf drive for San Francisco homeless shelters....
We'll see you on the dance floor
