2Pin records, is a new label with a new direction in music. Formed by the Leeds electronic duo, 'The Electric Press' (2020 Vision), 2Pin Records was created to allow Tom Taylor and Wesley Gill the opportunity to push their creativity further by creating an outlet for their own sonic experiments as well as those of other like-minded individuals.
In little short of twelve months 2Pin Records have pieced together a carefully selected roster of artists and begun to develop a sound that has attracted praise from Steve Bug, Shur-I-Kan, Ramon Tapia and Stephan Bodzin amongst many others. This latest release see’s Tom Taylor adopt his Celestial guise to deliver a slice of nu-disco-fied deep house.
Shake Up is the kind of stylistic melting pot that is coming to define the current house scene. Taking inspiration from a broad selection of genres, Shake Up seamlessly marries sun-kissed nu-disco vibes with analogue basslines and euphoric soaring strings.
Outmode evolve the original idea, retaining the Balearic feel but pump up the beats and adds a more electrified bassline to give a more dancefloor friendly result. Resounding keys and distorted vocal snippets are added to compliment a swaying, happy groove.
Matt Masters (Freerange, Urban Torque) takes things in a deeper, more abstract direction; cutting up the bassline into a jittery jazzy stab and adding washes of echo-laded keys underneath a rolling out low-slung tribal beats to make a vibrant, sultry remix.
