Ghost Insert in Cubase

I was working with Reaktor 5 FX in Cubase when Reaktor crashed. When I opened up the project file again, the insert and automation field where Reaktor was assigned stayed "greyed out" in Windows. As if the plug-in was missing. I uninstalled and re-installed the plug-in but it still shows to be greyed. Now I can't just simply reload the plug-in because I had intricate automation going on with various settings in my Reaktor project that I can't recall. Is there anyway to bring that "ghost channel" back to life?

I would really appreciate any help.

HI,

When you use Reaktor in Cubase the system initially forces you to save the reaktor file (.ens) somewhere, did you save this into your Cubase project folder? If so, reload it from there, the automation should still be drawn in cubase.

If you used an Instrument track for the Reaktoir .ens u where using you could save that as an Instrument Channel patch then recall it later on.

Before doing any of this though i would advise re-saving your project to another project folder (like a backup) and use that so that if anything does go wrong you dont loose your automation.

all the best,

Mark,

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. The only thing is that I actually disabled that saving, it was bothering me everytime I would open up a Reaktor project. I loaded this synth as an effect unit, not as an instrument. I'm wondering what I would find if I actually open up the Cubase file where the problem lies in notepad to see if there are any threads or strings missing but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to spot where the Reaktor code belongs in there. I'm pretty sure that the reason this is happening is because that instance of Reaktor was curropt. If only I knew how to fix it...

Try toggling the delay compensation switch (top left corner). Some plugins gray out for me when I turn that on.
