Im only used to working with reason, and there's something im not quite sure about when using other DAWs with VSTi's.
When using reason, if I start a new song, put in a few synths, play about with parameters, save the song, and then re-open the song, all parameters are as I left them (as you would expect)
My question is simply, do VSTi's work in this way, or do you have to explicitly save the patch as well as your project?
It something ive got no experience with, so would just like to know how it works, as I dont want to start a song, creater a killer sound, then go to open it a few days later and its just gone back to the default patch. |

| With rare exception, most major DAW packages will save the state of the Software Instrument even if the patch itself is not saved. |

So in theory I could
1) Start song (song 1)
2) put in Sylenth1
3) create a sound I like
4) save song
5) create another song (song 2)
6) put in sylenth1 (again)
7) create another sound I like
8) save song
9) open song 1, and it will be as I left it with song 1, and not song 2 ?
Thanks for the help! :D |
