yea need someone to actually challenge armstrong, he does sit behind his team but so are the other riders, hes just to strong.. the ONCE rider was behind him and on his wheel then blew him away with that attack.. to easy for armstrong at the moment.
need a rider like pantani, just a pure climber.
u just got to wonder if armstrong is taking something... he was never this good before.. he couldnt climb for peanuts. |

The reason that no one from ONCE will win the Tour:
Unlike USPS, which has Armstrong designated as the leader, ONCE has never been able to declare a leader. Going into the mountains, they had one rider who was a legitimate contender, and another who was wearing the yellow jersey... A team divided between who they should help...Hopefully now they realize that Beloki is the member they should support for the rest of the Tour. Barring something tragic, however, there is little chance that anyone will beat Armstrong. His team is in too good of form.
For us Americans... looks like the increase in the price of stamps is going for a good cause... Next year, we'll probably be paying about 50 cents per stamp, so the team can retain the likes of Roberto Heras, who is demonstrating the ability to be a leader in his own right. |

The leader of ONCE has always been Beloki.
Galdeano was the first because he is good in chrono! |

i dont think u know what ur talking about,, before the tour even starts plans are put in place for the leader and which people will work for the leader,, the only time this has been really different was with riis and ullrich. riis was the leader but then he was cracking so they gave up on him and the workers of the team went and helped ullrich.team plans do change but ONCE has always had their eyes in one main for yellow.
Armstrong is very lucky to have hereas as this guy just ups the tempo and blows everyone apart, armstrong looks like he struggles to hold on sometimes.
sure armstrong is the best at the moment, the best man should win but its just a pity no one can stay with him,, luc leblanc was a powerful climber who always put the leaders in trouble, that attack that blew indurain apart a few years ago was amazing.. |

I agree with fyrestorm, ONCE's weakness is directly caused by their lack of a clear leader. Although, this is also a statement of their overall team quality.

??? The guy doesn't even flinch while riding. And have you seen the way he pedals? His cadence is so fast and flawless compared to the rest of the riders. |

Nobody can come close to matching Lance Armstrong's overall ability in the long endurance races. Seriously, this dude is a maching and to all you Europeans, Lay off the dude. He doesn't do drugs! How many tests have you thrown at him and how many has he passed cleanly? Yeah that's right.
You wanna know why Lance Armstrong rules you all?

LANCE WINS AGAIN!!!!
I don't think anyone will beat him next year either. My bet is that he wins 5 in a row next year.
What a finish today in Paris. |

OK, Armstrong won it well, but in teams, ONCE has shown why is considered one of the best (if not THE best) cycling team in the world, with 3 riders in the top-10. And what can we say about a "waterboy" that in his first appearance in the Tour makes a 6th place...
GO AZEVEDO!!! GO!!!!! |
