Hey guys, is it possible to assign a 3rd party plugin's parameter to a Macro in Ableton? I can do it with Live's effects/Instruments but when I try with, let's say NI Massive, no luck..
Is there a work-around to this? Maybe I'm missing something simple?lol:)
Also... Is there a similar Assigning option in Logic?
Thanks in advance:p |

You can do this in Live 8 VERY easily, dare I say 'RTFM'? |

Ah, it.
Load up your VST, click on the arrow pointing downwards (where the VST is located), then click configure and map some VST controls. Then you can add another effect (if you didn't start by adding an instrument/effect rack), group them together, then hit the macro button and assign the macro knobs to the newly acquired VST controls. Simple.
See below for reference.

Thanks for the replies.. I should really have read the manual but I thought it was a limitation within live.
So can this be done in Logic 8? I'm only half way through that manual!lol |

Don't think so. But then it's not really meant to. The Macro controls are so you can easily adjust the most important settings on your FX racks when playing a Live set. No coincidence the APC40 knobs are laid out exactly the same as the Macro knobs. |
