wireless router question

I have a Linksys WRT54GL which recently had two ports fried due to a power surge. The "internet" port as well as the first port don't work anymore, but ports 2, 3, and 4 still work fine. I already replaced it and was trying to sell this one on ebay .
My question is can the router still work as a normal router without the internet port? What I mean is can you plug in your modem to say port 2, and connect your computers to ports 3 and 4 as well as use the wireless? Or does it only work if the modem is plugged into the internet port? |

| it will work as a switch or access point. you'll need a new router, though. |

| pretty sure it can work for multiple computers if your modem is able give out more than one CPE IP address.. most ISPs limit this to 1 for a residential account, but there are some that let you use several |
