ok, i have been using fruityloops for a while now...since 2.72 came out, to be exact.I am currently using 3.4, and i wanted to know if someone can help me on something. ok, you gotta follow me on this now... Some trance tunes have a chorus lower itself before the kick/bass/everything else kicks in. It lowers itself then brings itself back up. I am thinking its a flanger, but i saw the structure of the cover "system f - out of the blue"[made on fruityloops], and it doesnt use a flanger. The first pattern [Lead] has nothing at all in it. Yet in the pattern seqeuncer it is used. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, can you please help me by replying? It'll mean a lot. http://divx.hypermart.net/m/ if you go to that link you can DL a zip file. It contains a short example of what I am talking about, and it is only 162kb. Thanks. |

Its done using automated cutoff, unless ur talking about something else. |

How would I go about using that? |

Not being nasty, but u say u've used fruity since the early versions and yet, u cant figur and something like this ?
Anyways, u need to automate the cut off to get that sort of ''build up'' of the synth....
Start with it on low and bring it up...
U need to set up an extra pattern and record all tweakings in there... |

Midevlbstr, don't worry, that automation thing is quite easy :)
Just do ur melody/riff in one channel. Then U can take another channel and create the automation into that new channel.
U can control volume,cut off...What ever :)
Lets say U wanna control the cutoff from some 3xOSC sound, just klick the sound so U got the channel settings up. Then look for the filter and klick on the CUT knob. Now U should see the menu where U select the "edit events". And there U go my honey:tongue3 That same way U can control
almost everything. And when the automation is ready, put it into playlist as U put the other banks. Easy, isn't it? |

Where did you find that .flp file? |

D_G, to answer your question, i have been using it since 2.72, but i wasn't really into as am i now. That is why I didn't take the time to learn any of it. I didn't really start playing around with fruity till 3.1 came out.
And, for the rest of you that commented, thanks. I knew it had something to do with the "edit events" thing. Well, thanks a lot.
And Michael Russo, the "System F - Out Of The Blue" cover came with Fruityloops 3.0. If you would like, I can send it to you, Or I can post on a site. If you would like me to send it to you, leave me a message...
Thanks again. |
