What's the word for....

So... I was sitting around with some friends and we got into some conversations.. and well... I've been having a hard time trying to find the word to describe the process of hanging a dead animal....

So... luckily the roommate of my friend grew up with hunters so he said the reason for doing that is to cure the meat... And there actually is a REALLY interesting reason for doing it...
"If you have had a good, aged steak, you know it is more tender and flavorful than what you typically buy in the store. The reason for this is that aging allows natural enzymes to breakdown the hard connective tissue in meats and for water to evaporate away concentrating the flavor."
So anyways... When you hang the animal (or bear) up.. that action must have a term to describe what you're doing... right?? You can't just call it "hanging"... can you????
Anyways... maybe it's just me... BUT if anyone else has anything thing to ask.. feel free... or just help me find some more words to describe this... or at least enough to make me happy....

so as a kid I hung alot of neighbourhood cats and dogs. Not really to cure any meat just to see if i could piss of my step father who would beat me to a bloody pulp while tit in my mother in front of me. so anyways I had a term for it, and after i would do it. the process of hanging the cats or dog, was called "hellevation" and the process of enjoying my creation was called "masterbation"
Hope this helps! |

Pretty sure it's just called hanging. I'd tell you to do a search for "meat hanging", but, uh... better not.
Seriously though, the things you hang them from are actually called meat hangers or meat hooks. I'm no expert, but I believe that you generally hang things on hangers. |

Probably have SafeSearch on. Good thinking.
<Cue obligatory double-entendre ending with "in my pants"> |

That pic makes no sense. You hang the animal by the feet, not the neck FFS... duh. Then cut the jugular to drain it of blood. Why would someone hang it back up by the neck I have no idea.
