Tiesto's album is garbage. Armin's been garbage for years. Ferry Corsten does what he does. Gouryella died in a boating accident. Pete Tong is all gone. Vinyl has gone VHS.

en lol krypt! ive been building PCs for 15 years and i still dont really know how they work. i would never ever pull something apart if it was working beforehand! :p

have you checked that the CPU/GPU is locked firmly into postion? double check you havent confused some of the cables and put them in the wrong place.

yeah, there's a chance you fried it with static, but again ive never experienced that so it must be hard to do.

lol. at least you taught him that if it aint broke, dont fix it! :stongue:

That one only worked for me after I entered both mine and my mother's credit card info. Weird :conf:

flip the switch on the back of the computer and keep it off for about 10 seconds.

turn it back on then press the on/off button. the fans might power up like its about to turn on.
push the button again.

if that doesnt work then lol.

Check you haven't bent any pins on the processor chip. I've done this before when taking apart a PC and was wondering why the it wouldn't switch back on.

When I plug the power supply in, the motherboard turns on without me pushing the power button. The computer monitor gives that, "check connection" display, and then goes into hibernation mode. The computer was working just fine before I took it apart. Could it have been that when I shut the computer down, I had accidentally unhooked the power supply from the wall jack, while the computer was still shutting down? Could that be it?

It's a Dell, Pentium 4 processor, basically from the early 2000's, running windows xp. 512RAM, 1.(something) ghz.

I'v done this before with my own computer and this never happened.

First guessing it s beeping and stuff too no for the POST?

Second how much did you take it apart?

My guess it that it could be the cluster of case connectors plugged in wrongly. By case connectors I mean the ones to the power on button etc. (inc. usb ) it can be easy to plug them onto the wrong one, or just on the wrong way (like having it not connected).

Would be handy to have a mobo make at least and the POST beeps.

Make a minimal build of the computer, ie. put only the absolute necessary components in there. Try to use the onboard video card if it has one. Boot it, and see if it POSTs. I wouldn't be so quick to say you destroyed it with static electricity, unless you seriously think you did. In which case, you're a dumbass.

I'm sorry man, but I fully lol'd when I read that :stongue:

By the way, Kryps, I'm quite sure the computer is in love with you (sorry, Yukii) and he misses the connection you two had.

My solution: give Yukii some love in front of the computer (the kid is optional here, but he too can watch), and tell it she's the one you care for. If nothing happens, send it to a proper technician and avoid any further damage.

I'd suspect the mobo, too... I don't think you're supposed to take the power supply off them for more than a few seconds or else they can wipe. I really don't have any sound advice, I'd just like to note that this is classic Krypton and it's really kind of enjoyable. :)
