Phrakture - Iris (Matt Acton Remix) - Breaks/Prog Breaks
View this Thread in Original format

So, here's my latest remix hoping to be signed soon, but there is stiff competition for a remix spot this time round, so I would love to hear any feedback you might have.

It's a prog breaks track, it's not quite finished, but I personally think is going rather well, but it's not perfect....yet! :p.

Soundcloud link below and thanks for your time!

nice one d00d u listen to a lot of morphosis? label is sick. Try to get that bassline to crazier status and i will like it even more.

Cheers!

I'll play around with the bassline, but making it louder in the mix causes a few complications! I'll have a play!

Cheers Stephen :).

There are some really nice elements here, however I didn't think the mix was quite right. At least on my audio equipment the vocal pad sounds were slightly too strong and drown out the beats and synth lead a bit too much. I still enjoyed the song though.

Wow this stuff is seriously good! This reminds me of what Mr.Mystery tried to do a few years ago (and this is a good thing btw) I love breaks with trance influence!

The only thing I didn't like was the length of the first and second break down, but even then it wasn't so bad I didn't like the music.

This is top notch stuff sir! :)

After listening to it a few more times, I can certainly agree with you there. They do need toning down slightly, I'll tackle that issue when I do a revised mixdown, cheers.

Thanks for the comments, blending trance and breaks is what I love to do! At the risk of whoring myself, if you like the style and want to check out some more of my work, you can check my myspaz page, loads more trancey breaks there :).

Good , Matt. Is Phracture a misspelling of Phrakture? If so, I don't really like Phrakture's breaks sound but I think you've gone a great job improving on it.

Hurry up and get this signed, I want to use it.

Haha, yeah I misspelt it! Ooops!

Cheers for the comments, I have worked on it a lot since I uploaded it. The deadline is tomorrow, so I'm going to polish it off and wait to see what the label manager thinks of it, fingers crossed!

Oh man, this is some serious quality going in there. Very well balance sound, lovely transitions and beautiful mystique atmosphere.

Grate work.

The only think I would add to your track is dynamics and best way of doing this could be amp your bass a little, although this bass keeps good line with your drums but for me should be more expose.

Fantastic melody, man.

I have made my final alterations and sent it to the A&R guy, just waiting to hear back now!
