oh the guy with the eyes? he's sexy.
as for my group getting the shaft i can see that. the media doesn't have a history of portraying most black women as being attractive and when black women are portrayed as that they typically aren't all black...think the cosby show, the girls were half, the mother appeared half and the father son and children appeared 100% black. same goes for the fresh prince of bel air, hilary was half the mother at some point was half and the son and young daughter appeared black...the same goes for fashion models up until about 10 years ago. i think the perception has changed a bit but i definitely agree with lira that the media does affect our perceptions of each other.
anyhow i've got dark skin and i've never felt i've gotten the shaft because of being black but on the other hand i'm not ugly and have an awesome rack :P |
