Ok, sorry if this has been asked before.
My Line in Record level is at its lowest setting possible.
Both channels and master on mixer are not in the red.
When I look at the waveform of my mix, the peaks are of the scale.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance |

| If you provide some more info maybe it would help. What are you using to record software wise. What interface are you using...what are you recording out of on your mixer? |

Using Wavepad and recording through standard soundcard installed in computer.
Have tried recording from master out, booth out & record out and on djm 3000 |

| is it a line in or a mic in? if it's mic in, is the boost enabled? if so you should disable the mic boost and give that a try |

| Try going from booth output and lowering the volume of the output from the mixer. Say like...halfway? |

| Do you have a screenshot of what you are talking about? Other than the waveform being "off the scale" as you put it, what indicates that you are clipping? Is the output audibly distorted? |

Dang! very true....been a long time. Welcome back.
Anyway back ot, as tony was getting at, the problem is that you have the mixer connected to the line in, but I would bet that you have the audio settings on the computer as "mic in", thus making it clip (I doubt you have separate line in and mic in ports on you built in soundcard)
Other than that, your mixer could be malfuctioning and outputting way to hot on the master outs (but that is incredibly rare) or the wavepad setting are wrong or it's malfunctioning.
I really think you have the audio settings on the PC set to mic in though. |

Thanks for the welcome back guys :) . After a brief stint as a skydiving coach (with over 200 skydives and a handful of BASE jumps) the music called me back.
Stand by for pictures of my rad new set up in the "post your setup pics" thread. |
