I'm in, tracklist looks interesting... used to be a big fan of Halo / Hipp-E and that kinda stuff... been kinda wondering what they've been up to now.

so i couldn't wait for an .mp3 and downloaded the .wma.

overall this is what i would describe as typcial "denys". very funky and deep; with some occasional hot spots that really stick out in my ears. whatever is going on from like 39-46 mins in was awesome. and i really liked the beginning a lot too.

some other stuff that was a bit too "funk" for me (i.e. around 25 min point and also at 57 min)...but good to expand on the various sounds; and not just stick with one style/subgenre.

that made me laugh for one reason or another.

thanks for listening. and there's no such thing as too much "funk", but i think i know what you mean.

i wasn't trying to say that all your stuff sounds the same; but at least the same subgenres, per-say.

alrighty denys, i checked it out last night

i don't have a ton of experiences with your mixes but i do love your style in this one. really upbeat, danceable, "club music" heh, but still nice and deep.

if there were only two gripes that i have with the mix, it would be that the intro was a little bit too "in your face" for me, like, if it slowly faded in it might be a bit easier on the ears at first. also, your track selection and flow are fantastic but i wish you would've focused more on harmonic mixing, there are some really genius transitions in this mix, and a select few where i kept wishing the tracks were in the same key.

hope you're not taking offense at all because i really feel the mix is solid, but i also don't wanna dick you around with how i feel about it technically, from one dj to another. nah mean nigga.

also, cheers on using my track, you don't know how much that means to me man. :D

closing out sets the rest of 2009 with it :)

as for the mix, i know what you mean. i need to stop mixing drunk, i get too aggressive.

personally i like the first 25 mins of my mix, the rest i could feed to the dogs. plus i should've turned the master down a bit... i might go back in this weekend and re-mix/record the whole thing. i like my track selection, but a few things can be re-arranged and mixed in later, etc... overall it's solid, but definitely not where it "can" be.

anyway cheers for a proper review and keep the production up, i'm loving it.

no, i know what you mean. over the years i've developed a certain style of tracks that i will consider and the way i mix them. a lot of it is actually influenced by TAs.

definitely taking it as a compliment, it's nice to have a recognizable "sound"/style.
