I think the latter. I'm not sure what you mean by "half the size."

true mono files are half the size of a stereo file as it only use one channel (like 700kb/s wav). but if u rendered it at stereo eventhough all your instruments are in mono ull have the exact same info in L and R channel, though the render is in stereo even if the track "sounds" mono, so the label wont care as long as the track is good. But delivering a file which is 1CH mono would not look very pro imo.

What is your point really? You dont have to pan anything if u dont want to if thats what u mean.

Okay, thanks. I heard that most club systems are mono so that's why I ask.

I'd think that if you submit a demo to a label for signing consideration, you'd be putting yourself at a big disadvantage by submitting in mono because the sound quality would suffer. While it's true that the song will likely be played in mono on most club systems, the label guys will likely be listening to your track (and your "competitors'" tracks) on a stereo setup in their studio. The first impressions probably won't be good, especially if the label guys are listening to stereo submissions right before and after your mono submission. So, I can't think of a good reason to send them a mono track.

Why would one summit a track in mono?

Why would you send a label a mono mix anyway?

I was writing something and I left the mono switch on, and when I switched it back to stereo it sounded worse.
