| It's these kinds of things that ensure china won't reach its full potential as a super-power. Ultimately, you need support of the people. I'm not sure how people could support this. |

I think the Chinese overwhelmingly support their government. |

i think you overestimate the chinese government. People don't support suppression. Media in china also isn't permitted to openly criticize the government like it is in the west. We don't have a true picture of people's sentiment. |

| Not saying their isn't discontent with the Chinese government, but certainly no serious counter-revolution. |

that you know of because (i) the media couldn't report it if there were a serious counter-revolution, and (ii) the government does everything it can to suppress opposition.
you shouldn't mistake their success at suppression as being the same as popular support. |

What's their crime rate like? Do they have much robbery or break & enter stuff?
The guy in the article stole a ton of money through corruption schemes.
It's definitely barbaric, but it it that different than executions (injections or otherwise) carried out elsewhere in the world? |

it's the speed at which the executions take place, and the fact that the organs of the executed are 'recycled' apparently without consent (which i have no problem with) - better reused than destroyed.
In the US it can take 20 years or more for an execution to actually take place, and the organs of the executed are not 'sold' to rich japanese/korean people. |

"If utilitarianism is right, we'd better not believe it".
I don't remember where I read it, but these vans are a proof that there's some truth to this quote. |
