Garbage problem!!!!!!!!!!

Toronto TA's can feel me on this one...

Ever since the garbagemen strike began here, I have had to deal with people dumping their garbage in front of my house in the park. I can smell it from my doorstep!!! I just spent the last hour or so threatening people carrying garbage there to take their license plate numbers to the police if they don't take it away. I can't do this all night though!

I called the police and they said that they can only catch a person in the act and fine them, but they won't send anyone out there all night. :whip:

I don't know what else to do. We need someone to keep watch out there 24 hours a day, or else the park I grew up in will be a landfill :(

Anyone have any suggestions?

pay your garbage men, quite leaving htem hanging...
Matrix
go out there with a video cam and tape the ppl that do it
maybe talk to ppl that live around you and see if they dont like the garbage dumping either. form a neighborhood watch sort of thing?

your other alternative is to buy noseplugs and keep your windows shut.

arnt they just making it harder on themselves? they loose income for being on strike, and when they do get back, they'll have to clean up huge messes all over the place.

it's not very sanitary either, how can this be legal?

hmm I disagree, they only have to pick up a certain amount.. technically they get paid for each "AREA" they bring in.. kinda like comission.. so they are not hurting themselves in that sense, but they do lose income now.. but they would have only had to resort to a strike if they were being treated unfairly.. obviously that is the case....

get some lawyers in there, fix this mess, pay them their money, and treat them like human beings.. it will work out in the end

whoa this happening in canada....? i once read that montreal has the cleanest tap water in the world or something.....anyway...

i guess tip the garbagemen like the pizza guy or something heh. like inatrance said get some lawyers...also contact the government to ask them how they risk a sanitation crisis by not paying garbagemen heh (or is sanitation in canada privatized? i dunno, but something of this magnitude needs to go to the government)

I really hope this strike has nothing to do with wages... garbagemen here make PLENTY of money...

I was in Malaga (Spain) a week ago and the garbagemen were also (all ready 10 days) on a strike. With 40 degrees Celsius in the sun you can imagine the smell there, yuk.:nervous:
