im not sure when this came out and i dont even know if itll fit in the category of trance but the first song i heard that came close to it was robert miles - children =x <<< my inspiration right there!

The original version of Usura - Open Your Mind came out in '92 and was later re-relesed in '97/'98 with better known trance mixes from DJ Quicksilver, Tommaso de Donatis,...

The original version of Dreams was written by Quench (CJ Dolan-Winter) back in 1993 ...

Dance2Trance - We Come in peace (1991 I believe, from a german duo)

it's wank though! watch out.

For some quality, and very old trance check out Tangerine Dream, their album Logos from 1982, when synthesiserz and digital samplers first came into play. I think they, along with Jam & Spoon are the pioneers. Check out these tracks as well, all before 1993.
