Macbook vs Macbook Pro

The Macbook has been updated, has the same unibody as the Macbook Pro series and the battery can provide power up to 7 hours.
I do not need firewire so I'm leaning more towards a Macbook.
What's the difference between a Macbook and Macbook Pro and do I notice it in everyday usage? |

i would never consider buying something that was white. |

the new white one is 200dollars cheaper. i dont know whether the screen has been fixed though, it was terrible on the old white macbook. much better on macbook pro. other than that their almost the same. the white one even has bigger HD by default but the pro supports 8GB RAM (or maybe even more). Dont know if the white one does that, it seems to be max 4gb?. I dont know the busspeed either check up on that. And ofcourse... I white laptop? lol. If it where black id consider turning back my macbook pro haha. But im needing the firewire because of my soundcard. Both are good buys imo but for many 13" is abit small. i like it though.
what you could consider also is the bigger CPU variant of the 13" macbook pro. I think its default 250GB HD, 4GB ram and it has 2,53GHz CPU.
edit: checked up a litte.
seems like the white macbook has the old screen still (grayish imo, i sent it back). also max ram is 4GB and the HD cant be more than 5400RPM.
2,53GHz 13" Macbook Pro has 4GB default and 320GB HD and can be upgraded to 8GB Ram and 500GB 7200RPM HD. Bus speed seems to be the same, 1066.
Pluss, white looks haha.
another good thing about the pros is that u can easily change HD, RAM, battery yourself. That wasnt so easy on the old white one. dont know about the new one, but damn the pros alu-look? i was sold emidiately. |

The macbook pro looks alot better, one the best looking laptops out there.
Anyone knows about new macbook pro's soon to be released? HP comes with a new laptop range that murders the macbook pro's so hoping to see a response from apple if I'm going to buy a macbook pro.
( the new HP series have core i7's quad cores, monster GPU, also 7 hours of power from battery, same looks and so on )
Anyone have tested Windows 7 vs OSx yet? :)
( I'm going to giveaway my current laptop to someone as it only works 1 hour on battery so I'm looking for a new laptop ) |

The first hands on reviews of the new Macbook (white) weren't that great. They said it's a decent laptop, but totally boring, and the white finish scrapes and scratches really easily.
I'd pay the $200 more for the Macbook Pro. The aluminum unibody enclosures are so solid, they really are awesome laptops.
I took a look at that HP unit. They really lifted the look of the Macbooks, huh?
For me I prefer OS X... and Windows 7 JUST was released. And if you want to run both, the Macbook can do that... you can also just get VMWare and run them at the same time if you want :) |

The 13" macbook pro as it is now is only from august or something so im doubting they will do anything with it yet. They lowered the price like 50USD or something i think, and it might be more reduced maybe if they see that everyones getting the white instead bacause it has the same specs for 200 less. U cant just sit on the fence waiting though. Computers are this way. Seriously i dont understand why they still work on the white one, it ruin their line of products imo. They should have throwed it away, renamed the PROS to Macbook only and lowered the price a little. Then they should release a 10" netbook. |

I'm really keen on a macbook pro, but I can't really justify that price for a dual core machine, especially when its got that little graphics power. Its just getting too outdated IMO:( |

im also considering getting a macbook. solely for production mainly because of the price it has over the macbook pro but then again i cant get over the fact that its white. |

I'm with Richie, buy the Macbook Pro, it's silver or nothing. |

I played COD:4 on my older generation Macbook Pro with no problems. Newer gen MBP's will probably run it even better. |
