I was never really a big fan of mashups but these guys are the kings of quality mashups imo. everybody knows their on a metropolis day, but their not a lot left forever and wonderwall/helpless are pretty solid 2.

some of their sets are 100% their own mashups and they're great sets from start to finish. anyone who has listened to their international departures 07 and 08 will know what I'm talking about. those are the kind of sets I would love to hear at 11pm on NYE! :eyespop: & I haven't even listened to their gdj guestmix today as yet..

I thought they only mash-up in compilations, not live?
I've been a fan of theirs for a while now, and I'm really happy to see theyre getting attention they deserve these days, altohugh their latest productions have been getting more and more cheesy =(

This is true... if anyone caught today's GDJB w/ Markus Schulz - they did the guest mix. IMO, it was "alright"... too much cheesy stuff, but it did sound good and i guess made my day go by faster...

def agree with that, their recent string of remixes has been high on the cheese factor, all female-fronted vocal trax. I really wish they made more tracks like not a lot left which is one of my top 5 fav tracks of 08. they never really made anything else that sounds like that..

I listed to their coldharbour day set, it was just ing mashups nothing else, i know u have skills and everything but cmon, i dont wanna listen to 30 sec clips of tracks mashed up into other tracks for 1 hour, almost 50 tracks in an hour set, thats just a joke, before u get into the grove of the track ur already on another track. that just my $0.02

yeah i remember seeing the tracklist and thinking uh ok...then i listened to it. they are good at mashups but that wasn't one of my favorites. listened to their GDJB set today and it was all right, nothing to intentionally listen to over again. i can see them having really good dj sets in about a year or two if they commit to growing as djs

yeah exactly i'll only play it, if at all, while driving, i cant listen to it if im actually in the mood for listening to music or i dont see myself dancing to that stuff, their sets are almost like avb's year mix only diff is its mashed the up

i think the entire mashup sets are awesome to listen to, and i'd love to hear that kind of stuff at a club. their mashups are all very unique, and i don't think they come close to the year mixes in terms of how much is taken out of each. i'd dare say their mashups have made some of those tracks even better than their original form.

in a scene where most trance dj's do mix in a very standardized manner, i think it makes them stand out when they have their own mashups to make up an entire set.

yep, my thoughts exactly.

it's cool to listen to a one hour mashup set thrown in there among all the other standardized sets, even if just for listening to something different. I've only heard 2-3 mash-up sets from myon & shane 54 but they are unique and require more effort & skills as opposed to just hopping from one tune to the next. the sets are better than the year mixes I've heard.

true, some of those tunes take on a life of their own like this and sound better. it's cool to hear an unexpected classic coming in from out of nowhere in their sets, like when armin dropped that burned with desire remix at gov's island and you go like wow, I almost forgot that tune existed and that I used to like it!
