| i really wish russians would stop messing with bears, i think it's cruel they are locked away in small cages for the amusement of humans and to make it worse some are forced to skate. and really what do you expect when you mess with a dangerous animal, i'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. it's sad the guy died and the other is injured but i wouldn't with bears... |

i agree, i am all for the protection of endangered animals. it's really sickening to witness the ambivalence of many in regards to the handling of issues such as these! i guess if it were on the cover of every newspaper, people would be reminded that it is harmful for our environment by promoting tolerance towards the abuse and exploitation of wild animals.
everything in this world is connected, from the concrete floors of your office to the wheels of your car, from the burning petroleum of the east to the amazonian rain forest of brazil; from the bulbs inside your bathroom to the melting ice caps of the north pole.
everything is connected. chaos theory.

| agreed. making bears play hockey for our amusement is a terrible thing to do when they could be learning a sport that people actually care about, like football or soccer. |

Really? Cause I didn't see a guy get his leg ripped of and drug around the ice by his neck. |

yeah, i agree, it's alot easier to give two s about the environment or human rights or animal cruelty. it's easier to just sit back and enjoy the ride. |

+1 Dancing bears are a travesty. Though the practice is becoming increasingly rare in Russia and most of Eastern Europe, restricted to a few large circus troupes. I think the bulk of the problem is in Bulgaria and even more so the sub-continent, where the cruellest forms of training are still employed by traditional peoples on a huge scale. Hundreds of sloth bears in India and Pakistan are mutilated and trained by the Kalandar people as a means of supporting their families. |
