Got to Pacha around 11:30 and Dave Spoon was already on. Not a huge fan so haven't listened to all his stuff but from his Creamfields and Cream Amnesia sets recently I thought he was going to be much better than he was. Very up and down set, felt disjointed without too much of a flow. He definitely played some good tracks and it was a decent set but not as good as expected...also not sure why him and Dirty South didn't somewhat communicate on what he was going to end with and what Dirty South planned to begin his set with. Thought something was unplugged then all of a sudden Leave The World Behind You came on. DS started out somewhat big with that track then slowed it down for the next 30min or so then proceeded to bang the out of Pacha. He pretty much a played every track I wanted to hear. Then he ended with his remix of U2 - Crazy, I wish he played for more than 2hrs but I love Mark Knight so nothing to complain about. Mark Knight also played for 2hrs and by the time he came on at 3:00 it was a bit less crowded not sure why because he was dropping bangers.
Anyway fun night, like everyone else I'm no Pacha fan but if the music is good I'll go. Either way can't wait for the next installment of Mark Knight's residency. |

| So that is what happened! It was really full when Dirty South started and I couldn't see what was happening. It was so strange the way Dave Spoon ended. I really liked Dirty South and Mark Night. I just didn't like the direction it was going from 4:45, it got very slow and every once in a while it would speed up but it made me want to leave. We left at 5:15 and it was pretty empty. We had a great night though. |

Mark Knight doesn't play music with lyrics which turns away a chunk of people away, it's not as translatable perhaps for people who aren't really into EDM. plus for the most part the crowd is full of 21 year olds trying to find someone to take home so by 4:00 mission accomplished or averted. Unless they are really fans of the music no real point to stay.
The crowd although annoying entertains me as well. the number of guids walking around with Pacha bandanna made me giggle...the huge guid wearing the bandanna with an unzipped sweatshirt to reveal a shirtless chest who ran to stand 3" in front of me when there was tons of room to go nuts to "we should all wear polka dots" made me laugh.
anyway the crowd was decent yesterday for what it was. |

I was surprised Mark Night played Born Slippy, it is one of my favorite songs, ever. None of the younger ones knew it so they looked confused when the old folk were going crazy.
Did you get to see Starsoprano after she bought her Pacha bandanna? EnigmaT took some awesome pics of her with it and sunglasses. You will crack the up when you see them. The dude you mentioned was her inspiration for the get up. |
