I'm glad he was able to make his point in such a light-hearted manner, presenting "real case scenarios" and all. Some of his jokes were so grotesque as to become hysterically hilarious (like his underwear stealing frenzy), and I was stunned that he actually managed to come out with a very sane reasoning behind this "alternative" approach to the phenomenon.

It's about time someone took the piss at tribalists, as he called them, and showed that there's nothing remarkable about intercultural bonking :D

lol thought this would be up your alley. If you get a chance you should check out the series he did on religion (John Safran vs God). Anyway looks like the next episode might be a bit more controversial:

:stongue:

That looks way funnier than the first.

Both his series on religion and the next episode of Race Relations are on my to-watch list :D

I watched it over the weekend. I've never sat down and made an effort to watch a Safran show, but I found this mildly amusing. The best bit was 'jewess'.

As Egos mentioned, a co-worker was just telling me that , in the final episode he literally crucifies himself, putting nails through his hands and feet. That's a pretty ed up amount of dedication to a television show.

you might actually like his safran vs god series. seriously good .

his rants to open and close each show are ing mad :D

this is my favourite mini-rant from that series. :D

this one is hilarious too :D

the famous one from his vs. god series was when he got a fatwah placed on rove (an australian talk-show host) when rove bumped him from his show... :stongue:

Been a fan of safran since the race around the world competition. When he and A Current Affair victim shane paxton went through ray martin’s garbage and ray put his hand up over the camera lense it brought about the finest moment in television for the year.

watching the next installment of race relations now..

ahhh this is going to be good...

he gets the idea to paint himself black off this other book where the guy turned himself black, although an anti-racist woman tells him not to do it :stongue:

this is similar to when he went into the klu klux klan base in the US and asked if they would let jews join.. :haha:

Just watched the final episode, and I must say I think he's brilliant.

Unlike Sasha Cohen, who's just outrageous and just a comedian, the thing I like about Safran is that, even though some of his pranks are wee bit over the top, his social criticism is more elaborated, as he freely speaks his mind. Both this series and his previous one on religion explore issues that I find particularly interesting, and I think he did a great job exposing the complexity behind these problems.

Unlike "John Safran vs God", in which his conclusion was really open-ended (so it wasn't really at all conclusive), I think he could have elaborated far more his "post-ethnic" identity, though I think he did a good job trying to bring both worlds together in the ending (even if I think he should've gone further than that).

He actually inspired me to do some work of my own, and even bought a camera... I just need to fight my usual procrastination and see what I can come up with :p
