Hello from UK! 2 Review of Loco Dice vs. Luciano @ Q Club, Birmingham

I can't really describe what I have witnessed last night... To somewhat paraphrase Dali, I was in a perpetual state of aural erection.
Sasha & Digweed, these guys are the real deal. Playing a proper "VS" set, they dropped the most mind-boggling techno music that I've heard in a long while.
Alternating after each track, they made the crowd go berserk for 5 hours straight. It was beautiful... Loco Dice dropping some tune with a mad bass line, then Luciano sneaking in some random flutes or Spanish choirs, etc, etc, etc. Proper taco-flavored funeral space funk.
Something needs to be said about the venue. It's an old Methodist Hall aka a CHURCH. You see the ing organ behind the booth! The windows are stained glass! It was surreal to say the least... Sound was good, lighting was OK. Club was trashed afterwards though, there were literally piles of beer bottles on the dance floor; coat check was a cluster - so unorganized. As for the crowd, lots of drunks and slags, some pill heads, a LOT of hipster untermensch.

I saw LocoDice and Luciano in Ibiza last month and they were doing a tag / duo thing at Amnesia for the Cocoon event.
In short it was the best music and best event of the entire trip... |
